Employees have always played an important role in the execution of policies and schemes of the government at the ground level. The state of himachal Pradesh and central departments has always prioritized ensuring the welfare of its employees and maintained cordial relations with them. It is ensured that different categories of employees get due benefits and better facilities.
Labour wing is responsible for the implementation of 28 Labour Laws (Central & State) with a view to establishing and maintaining peace in the Industrial Establishments. Under the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act 1947, Labour Courts-cum-Industrial Tribunals have been set up at Shimla & Dharamsala to decide industrial disputes. Under the Factories Act,1948, registration and renewal of factories licenses is done as also ensuring safety of workers. According to mentions by authorities Government employees in the state have been given revised pay scales and on average, all of them have got 12 to 15% salary hike. There has also been an increase in pension of about 1.5 lakh beneficiaries of the state. Financial benefits of ₹7,801 crore have been given to state government employees and pensioners between 2018 and 2022.
